I'm a Mexican game designer with three years of experience in functional and localization QA. I've always wanted to build something — not just games, but something people could actually use in their daily lives. For years I had plenty of ideas, and most of them stayed half-baked, usually stalled by money or by how much there still was to learn.

A year ago I hit a wall. I'd been working to grow at a company — picking up game design, programming, UI/UX, sound — and still felt stuck. If I didn't build something new myself, nothing was going to change. The idea came on a night playing the Digimon TCG with my brother. I've always been competitive — video games, especially Smash Bros., and a handful of TCG tournaments too — and I kept running into the same problem: there's only so many hands you can shuffle and test by hand. The online tools that existed weren't built for mobile, and I wasn't about to draw cards out of thin air at a doctor's waiting room just to test a build.

That's the path that became TCG Tools. It's not another app for tracking prices or scanning a collection — Collectr and others already do that well. TCG Tools is meant to become the source of truth for testing decks and understanding your own data, built for players who actually compete. There's a lot still to build, but the foundation is set, and I'm proud of it. I'm 30 now, and if my younger self could see this, I think he'd be happy. I hope it helps you as much as building it has helped me — there's more coming.
